Red Devils News · Tippecanoe Boys Soccer Leaves its Mark on the State Record Book

Over the past two years, the Tippecanoe Boys Soccer Program has accomplished so much!  As most of us know, they have truly established themselves as one of the elite programs in the state.  Last year’s State Championship, and this year’s State Runner-Up finish, are just two pieces of evidence to prove it.

I am sure that all of the Tipp Community was disappointed with the outcome of this year’s State Title game.  This team was so focused, and motivated, to win back-to-back state titles.  It didn’t quite work out but that should never tarnish the accomplishments of this team, and this program.  The proof, of just how impressive the two-year run has been, will be printed in the state record book.

A few of the the accomplishments, that the 2019 & 2020 varsity boys soccer teams achieved, are :

  1.  47 straight game unbeaten streak- this will be in the state record book as a tie for the 3rd longest in state history. (record is 68 straight)
  2. 35 game winning streak- this will be in the state record book as the 2nd longest streak in state history. (record is 43 straight)
  3. 2019 and 2020 teams won 23 games for the season- this is a tie for 4th in the state record book. (25 is the record)
  4. Tippecanoe has moved into 5th place all-time for program victories.  Tipp now has a program all-time record of 568-136-72. (Centerville is in 1st place with more than 700)
  5. Goals scored on the season 133 (13th place)
  6.  Shutouts for a season- 18 (6th place in state record book)
  7. Coach Downing will now be listed on the Most Wins-All Time with 278 wins.

I would like to thank the Tippecanoe Soccer Program for all of the joy, and excitement, they have given us these past two years.  You have accomplished things that many thought were not possible.  I applaud you!!!  I am so proud of you!!!

Tipp Pride!!
