“Ben Knostman made his commitment to play for Winthrop University in Rock Hills, South Carolina. Tippecanoe High School Head Basketball Coach, Adam Toohey said, “Ben is a natural leader and an asset to our team both on the court and off. He has basketball knowledge beyond his years and is able to see the court better than any high school player I have ever coached.” Ben led his team to the school’s first division title in 12 years as a Junior, he was named to 1st team All League, 1st team All District 9, and Miami Valley League Player of the Year. As a junior, Ben averaged 15.4 points per game to go along with 7 rebounds, 6 assists and 3 steals per game. Last season, Ben also had three triple doubles, while his most complete game may have been where he just missed out on a quadruple double, scoring 12 points, hauling in 8 rebounds, dishing out 9 assists and 8 steals. Ben’s work ethic and determination is a quality that is admired by all that get to see him on the court. He is a vocal leader in the program and has helped out many of his younger teammates. He is not only an exceptional athlete but an exemplary student, putting in the same amount of effort into his studies. Ben and his parents Doug and Ann are excited for his senior season and next chapter of life at Winthrop, along with his brother Bryan and sister Charley.”
Congratulations to Ben and his family on this wonderful accomplishment!!!
